Immunity Boosters

Immunity Boosters

London is absolutely freezing in January! It is also the time when your defences are at their lowest, meaning that you may have noticed that you come down with flu and colds more often than usual.

The amazing thing about our immune systems is that they are constantly adapting and learning so our bodies can fight against bacteria or viruses that change over time.

I wanted to share three of my favourite immune boosters with you which I like to take regularly and especially when I know I’m coming down with a cold or sinus attack.

For each booster, there is no specific time and you can take them whenever, in between meals on an empty stomach – whenever you fancy. You don’t have to have all three in one day if you don’t want to either.

Just pick your favourite one and have fun with it!

1. CARROT, GINGER, TURMERIC AND ORANGE JUICE SHOT

Anti inflammatory shot..have twice a day.

1 medium size carrot
2 oranges
1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon of organic turmeric
2-crushed black pepper

Juice all the ingredients, mix in the crushed black pepper and enjoy. This one has quite a refreshing kick to it!

2. WARM LEMON WATER WITH MANUKA HONEY AND CINNAMON

Manuka honey has amazing medicinal properties and is excellent for building immunity, it cannot tolerate heat so make sure your lemon water is luke warm, not hot.

1 cup of Luke warm water
3 slices of lemon
1/2 teaspoon of organic cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon Manuka honey

Stir all the ingredients well and relax!

3. ORGANIC WHITE TEA

Both white tea and green tea come from the same plant. White tea leaves are harvested at a younger age than green tea leaves and have slightly less caffeine than green tea. They also both have the same type of antioxidants, with white tea having a larger quantity.

The taste is not too strong either, more subtle and smooth. A hot cup of white tea once or twice a day is all you need to fight a cold and strengthen immunity.
