ARE CHARCOAL BEAUTY PRODUCTS WORTH THE HYPE?

ARE CHARCOAL BEAUTY PRODUCTS WORTH THE HYPE?

Charcoal is everywhere! In face masks, cleansers, pore strips, shampoos, toothpaste, oils, supplements, juices, waters, added to certain foods and in all kinds of detox concoctions.

SO, WHAT IS CHARCOAL?

Charcoal is the purest form of carbon. It works like magnet and attracts toxins when used topically, meaning that all the grease, grime and dirt which lands on our skin thanks to the pollution gets absorbed by charcoal. If taken internally, over the counter activated-charcoal tablets can also remove toxins from your intestines, even helping to relieve food poisoning symptoms…pretty amazing stuff, huh.

I wanted to give you the low down on the charcoal products which I personally like to use myself. There is so much out there, sometimes going for recommended products are a really good way to try something new which is tried and trusted.

CURAPROX WHITE IS BLACK TOOTHPASTE

I have been using this for a while and I do feel like it works. It is a whitening toothpaste for sensitive teeth. The taste is mild and not too intense. Containing activated charcoal and enzymes that protect against tooth decay and support over all oral health, this toothpaste is free from bleaching agents, SLS, plastic particles and triclosan.

LUSH-DARK ANGELS

I love skincare products from lush. They are made of fresh ingredients and smell absolutely divine. So, I used this one on my face and body: Lush-Dark Angel. It is super moisturising and makes my skin feel fresh, soft and supple. Charcoal and black sugar exfoliate and absorb all the excess oil while the avocado, rosewood and sandalwood oil in it helps to nourish your skin. It is well priced and effective for a budget beauty buy.

KIKI HEALTH ACTIVATED CHARCOAL POWDER

I keep this in the house for emergency purposes for my family. It is not my essential supplement but absorbs easily by your gut, helping to relieve indigestion, gas and bloating. Free from all kinds of artificial preservatives: soya, wheat, gluten, starch and milk, it is excellent…and has even been known to prevent hangovers!

BEAUTY DISCLAIMER:

Please note, not all products will work for everyone. Everyone’s body and skin reacts differently, so please bear this in mind before trying the above products. I would also recommend doing a little patch test before full application, just in case. Even though my recommendations are all natural – they are what suits me and may not suit you. Always take advice from your doc before going for it.
