Caring for your neck

Caring for your neck

We do everything we can and sometimes more, to take care of our facial skin. Most women however, don’t
give the required TLC to their necks. The skin on your neck is thin as compared to the skin on your face. It
is more prone to wrinkles and deep lines, just like the skin around your eye area.

In my case, sitting and working at my desk in front of the laptop for long hours, has caused the fine lines on
my neck to become prominent. I therefore, feel the need for intense products with stronger ingredients that
will help boost collagen production and increase elasticity.

Here are a few tips that will help you.

Preventing and treating:

I always apply my serums, moisturisers and sunblock up till my neck, which of course helps in keeping the
skin on my neck healthy. Start practicing this in your early 30s.
In your 40s, neck care becomes your highest priority. Although one cannot make deep lines and wrinkles
disappear, one can always take steps to refine and minimise them.
When you go for facials and professional treatments, ask your therapist to treat the neck area too.

Home treatments:
In The Day- follow your day care regime, and work it up till your neck. Never ever skip your sunblock. If it
needs extra care, then go for a neck cream that specifically targets all the concerns.
‘Omorovicza’ is a firming neck cream that I picked up recently. It is infused with enzymes from white truffle,
two different types of hyaluronic acid, and helps improve elasticity, plumps and tightens the skin. In 3
weeks, I saw improvement in my skin texture and my skin feels firmer now. It’s got no artificial perfume,
colours, and is also free from parabens and sulphates.

At Night – I use Cherry Oil with turmeric and saffron. This is a Zahara skincare product from Kashmir and
comes seasonally – as they make limited amount every year. Rich in vitamin A, antioxidants, oleic acid, the
oil helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, evens out your skin tone, and increases elasticity of the skin.
Cherry kernel oil is similar to sweet almond oil however, it is has less fatty feel. It can be applied on the face
too, but for now I’m applying it only on my neck. Just put a few drops on your palm, and gently apply it all
over your neck in upward strokes. For more info on Zahara skincare, check out their Insta handle
