Best Summer Drinks to Make at Home

Come summer, we find it hard to drag ourselves to work; feel fatigued and crave for anything that helps us cool off. Staying hydrated is certainly most important to keep going in the heat, and maintain good health.

I wrote about summer coolers last season, and I think it is time to add some more to the list. Here are some new-found favorites. They’re light and refreshing, and don’t require too many ingredients. Plus, they’re all natural! While you keep regular with some of these coolers, do not skip having your mandatory 7-8 glasses of water daily.

Watermelon Cooler

4-5 cups of cold watermelon

2 inch sliced fresh ginger

1-tablespoon lime juice

Watermelons are really a boon during summer; high in water content and low in calories. It has tons of vitamin C, vitamin A, magnesium and B vitamins. Watermelon juice is also full of antioxidants and keeps your body (and skin) hydrated. Have it post-workout to hydrate.

Green Juice

This one is alkalising, refreshing and nutritious. It is also an uncommon yet, a delicious combination. You can have it pre or post workout. Do let me know how you like it by commenting below.

Berrilicious

1 cup of mixed frozen berries – blueberries/strawberries/raspberries

250 ml chilled almond milk

Blend. This is one perfect summer smoothie to start your day with. Also, who doesn’t love berries? We know they are a powerhouse of antioxidants, and excellent for immunity, gut health and skin. I’ve posted this one earlier on Instagram. It is super delicious.

Sip on these amazing drinks, and enjoy the season till it lasts ☺
